Terms of service

These terms apply to everyone who uses Aside, as a host or as a guest. Aside is operated by [legal entity name and address]. By using Aside you agree to them.

The service

Hosts create events in the Aside app. Guests join with the event's code or link and take photos, which stay hidden until the reveal the host has set. We work hard to keep the service running and your photos safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors.

Hosts

• You're responsible for who you share your event's code and link with, and for your event's settings.
• You can hide or delete any photo and remove any guest from your event.
• Tell your guests that photos are collected and who will be able to see them.

Your photos

You keep all rights to the photos you take. You give Aside permission to store, process (for example to apply the film look) and show them to the people allowed by the event's settings, and you give the host permission to download them. That permission ends when the photo is deleted.

Acceptable use

Don't use Aside for anything illegal, to harass anyone, or to share intimate images of someone without their consent. Don't try to access albums you weren't invited to or to disrupt the service. We may remove content or accounts that break these rules.

Payments

• Hosts pay once per event, through the App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown before you buy.
• Refunds follow the store's policy. If a purchase is refunded, the event returns to its previous plan and no photos are deleted.

How long albums are kept

Paid albums are kept until the host deletes them. Free albums are deleted 12 months after the event unless the host buys "Keep forever"; we email the host 30 and 7 days before. See the privacy policy for details.

Liability

Aside is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for the event concerned. [Final wording to be reviewed.]

Ending

You can stop using Aside at any time; hosts can delete their account in the app. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
